Default 12 or 13 in. sub for Teg?

Hey all,

I was wondering which would be better in a teg. A JL Audio 12w7 or 13w7? And which amp would be good with that sub?

It all depends on how loud you want it. I think you can use the JL 1000/1 for either of them and you'll be fine.

I have one for sale. Hit me up on AIM: a98tegLS, if you are interested.

that completely depends on what amp you are using and the type of box. If you are using the 1000/1 then go with the 13, if you are using the 500/1 go with the 12.

Depends on what you want, SQ or SPL?

With such powerful subs, I am a big fan of sealed boxes because they are loud as **** to begin with and then with a sealed box, you get some nice tight controlled bass.

My 1000/1 is still for sale if you decide to for the w7.

SQ = Sound quality (make sure every note hits and it's precisely on time)
SPL = Sound Pressure Level = straight up bass with complete disregard to what the hell it is they're saying in the song.
w7s LOVE ported boxes.

a w7 will work fine in either, but make sure you have more than enough power if doing a sealed box, if you are doing the 500/1 or a 12, do ported (and a ported box isn't as unclear as "troublecodes" said), if you have a 1000/1 on the 12 do a sealed.

If you're going for a prefabricated box I would only recommend the JL enclosures. I would MUCH rather see you go with a custom box though. A W7 is not your everyday sub.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Goatsterrman &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">a w7 will work fine in either, but make sure you have more than enough power if doing a sealed box, if you are doing the 500/1 or a 12, do ported (and a ported box isn't as unclear as "troublecodes" said), if you have a 1000/1 on the 12 do a sealed.</TD></TR></TABLE>

And why is that?
