2-Layer Headgasket for LS? Can I modify the OEM gasket?
I'm installing some 404's and need to bump up the compression about .4 to maintain stock cranking pressure.
I'm thinking a 2layer headgasket would be best, I don't want to mill the head, because eventually i'll be installing some p30 pistons and my CR will be 11:0 which is already high enough.
Is it ok to just take the middle layer out of the OEM headgasket and use that? Or would a better idea be too buy the Mugen b-series gasket and use a dremel to fit it.
thx

Yes you can modify the OEM gasket.
Just carefully drill out the rivits holding it together, and pull out the middle section.
