pic #1 looks the the steering rod ball joint. u'd have to get that beast pressed out, or rent a special tool from autozone. can someone back me up on this???
pic #1 looks like it's just a tie rod end. don't think u can just replace the boot though. part house normally just sell the whole tie rod end. it shouldn't be that expensive. to remove it, do the following:
1) remove the nut on top, spray some penetrating oil on the thing and let soak.
2) thread the nut back onto the end (not all the way though just enough to protect the threads)
3) hit the steering knuckle where the two parts meet with a hammer. it should comes out. (may take some persuasion but it should drop down)
4) loosen the 19 mm jam nut on the tie rod.
5) as you unscrew the outer tie rod end, make sure u count how many turns it takes to separate it from the inner tie rod end so that when u go to install the new part screw it in the EXACT same amount of turns.
6) when this is all done have the alignment check (don't forget to tighten up the jam nut)
have fun..... it shouldn't be all that hard.
