PCV routing on 00' Integra LS HELP!!!
Customer's engine came to me out of car and I have put it back in. Where there is normally the oil separator box on back of block for the older cars, this one does not have that. Now, just above where the oil separator box would go into the block "round hole in bottom of box/block" there is a large plug similar to that of a block drain plug. There is an earls 90' fitting threaded into that plug and I have no idea what to hook that to. I have looked at a 99' teg and that plug is not open, there is nothing hooked to it.
I have the pcv valve hooked directly to the IT manifold like from the factory. I have the tube that hooks to that earls fitting on the back of the block clamped off. The car still smokes, could be residual but I think that something is still hooked up incorrectly. I have Compression, CLT, tested, and borescoped the engine many times, IT IS IN PERFECT shape! I am confident that the engine has no problems and that the smoke is due to some problem with the PCV system. If anyone has any suggestions or info please help.
The local Acura dealer's info for the 00' LS teg shows the PCV valve as being in the oil separator box on the back of the block, we all know that that is incorrect so I will be getting no help from that source.

Is that fitting an AN flare or just a barbed fitting that replaces the freeze plug?
These are the only topics I could find with half-assed effort. Maybe that will be self-explanatory enough so I don't have to open my mouth so much.

That 90 barbed probably goes to a catch can, or you can just vent it externally away from critical components with a filter on it if you're looking for a quick solution.
I am not sure just what it is. I don't think that it is supposed to have that in there at all. I looked at a 99' LS teg and that is blocked off. I tried to loop it to the valve cover breather port and it made it smoke worse.
If you loop the two together, you're closed-looping the PCV system and not giving the positive-pressured crankcase vapors anywhere to go. It ends up backing up the system all the way to the source and in the worst case scenario, it'll blow through or blow open gaskets and seals.
Was the motor sleeved and overbored?
Does that motor run loose ring end gaps?
Both tend to increase the amount of ring blow-by vapor and increase the crankcase pressure and oil vapor output.

The engine was not sleeved, it is a .10 overbore. I am running the ring end gap specified by wiseco for a turbo set up. Not sure the exact specification off the top of my head. I have built 25-30 of these exact engine packages, just not the 00' with this pcv set up. All of the others have been 94-95.
