re010 on wider wheels?
has anyone tried the re010 on wider wheels? i'm thinking of getting 15x6.5 slipstreams with re010. i'd think a wider, lighter wheel should improve upon the stock wheel in everyway. whatcha think?

i know they'll fit, y0! does anyone have experience? i'm guessing the extra width will improve slightly on the razor sharp steering feel of the re010.

I ran 195/55-15 RE-010s on my 15x7 TE37s; steering feel was fantastic. Running same size Advan AD07s now for exact same reason.

Hi Mr. Hat,

According to Bridgestone's specs for the RE010, the 195/55-15 can be mounted on wheels with width from 5.5 inches to 7.0 inches.

The re010 would be even better on a 6.5 or 7" rim. Actually, I think they'd look pretty darn cool too on a 15x7. Steering response with those tires is great stock. On a 7" rim it would be that much better.

I don't think steering response is always better on a wider rim. It really depends on the size of the tire and the rim. Beyond a certain point, the tire appears "stretched" and it won't necessarily handle better, either.
Don't confuse the 195/55-15 RE010 with, say, the Falken Azenis Sport 205/50-15, which is not only wider in treadwidth, but also is "big for its size". That particular tire seems to handle better on a 7" rim. But many other tires don't, particularly those for which 7" is the maximum recommended wheel width.
