what would be better to buy first for my car: comptech icebox, or comptech header? I have just a apexi WS catback on it now. i would like to know which one would give most gains. thanks

 

I would get the header.

I actually disagree. I saw more gains from my intake than my header (could just be in my mind though).

 

i would go with an intake but not a comptech.. i like the j's racing carbon fiber intake.. nice

 

well his current exhaust set up really does nothing but sound better (hopefully), so if he got a header, he would open up gains from the header and exhaust, which i think together could be more than intake, but intake is cheaper, overall i vote header

 

i kinda had the same reason in my head, so i'm gonna go with the header.

 

save your money for a turbo.

irrelevant. nobody is talking about a turbo.

 

Most often start from the furthest point out and work there way in.

 

I know you didn't ask about the apex'i intake but you should check it out. I got mine for 60 and it rips. the whole kit came with the metal intake tube, filter and the brackets. Check that out, and then you get get an intake, and a header at the same time!

The filter is proven to be one of the best on the market on the Apex'i intake.

The header is nice and all but I think most stock setups get the biggest gain from an Intake. For ex. in the import tuner mag. (power pages mag) the gsr gained 5.9 WHP from the comptech intake and only 2.4 from a DC header. Yeah I know it's a DC and not a Comptech but I still think the intake will make a bigger diff. good luck with what you get...
