D16A6 head with D16 vtec bottom end??
I'm pretty sure that it would work, but will a D16A6 head work with a D16Z6 or D16Y8 bottom end? I know it would have a lower compression ratio than a full D16A6 motor, but I would eventually put a supercharger on it so the lower compression wouldn't be a bad thing. Would these work together?
Also, what kind of compression would it be using a D16A6 head on either bottom end?

Hmmm..a reverse mini-me! That's a new one! LOL!
I don't see why not. Of course don't expect stellar performance
and maybe even more sluggish performace than a stock A6 motor.
Just look into the oil jet situation. When you add an Y8 head to an A6
bottom you have to remove the oil jet in the A6 bottom, but I'm not sure
about the Y8 block.

I'm trying to remember the screen name of the person who has this. He has a EF hatchback and a dodge stealth I think. The hatch is turbo...I'm blanking on his screen name though.
Anyways, I like the idea of this because you won't have to scrape away that stupid paper gasket like in the d16a6's

I don't want a B16. That would cost about $2000 with me doing the labor. I could buy a D16z6 or D16y8 for a ~$300. The D16A6 head that I have only has 10,000-20,000 miles on it since a rebuild. So I would put the head on a vtec bottom end and eventually down the road put a used supercharger on it.

But about that oil jet.... Hmmz....</TD></TR></TABLE>
The oil jet is what I'm worried about.

yes it's possible, you'll need the oil control valve. ur gonna lose power over going w/ the vtec head which BTW vtec is solely in the head & has nothing to do w/ the bottom end. (only that it was engineered w/ the head)
my advice part out the a6 head & stick w/ the complete y8 or z6 engine take the money & get parts for the vtec head.
