Ditching turbo and going all motor?
okay here's the deal. i thought i had a blown head gasket so i ripped apart my motor with my friend and we replaced it. it fixed some of the problems, but i'm still getting crazy oil blow by and my ***** still misfiring in cylinders 1 and 3 i believe.
so i figure my rings/pistons are shot. the dilemma is, i pretty much have no money and no job. i really need my car. i was thinking about selling the turbo + intercooler + other stuff and rebuilding my motor with stock compression je pistons + eagle rods and some itr cams and getting a direct port nitrous kit. i think its within my price range....what would you do?
edit : putting the message back up here as well.

I'd find a way to pay for rebuilding the motor and keep the turbo...you will miss it.

IMO even if you have a built motor using NOS is not as safe as a turbo. why? because if you get carried away with that little red button, it'll still wear out engine.
why not keep turbo, rebuild your engine and just do about 6-7 psi until you can go standalone (although by building your engine you can do more right off the start)
Keep the turbo, the thing you'll probably miss the most is the BOV sound
BTW what kind of set-up[ do you have?

From what I understand about turbo applications on a Honda is that you better not have any issues with money because it will suck you dry.If you need the car to be reliable then it is obvious why all motor has it's advantages.I am not sure what kit you are running, but whatever it is I am sure there is a market for such a thing. There are TONS of people that would buy it from you.I would say if you want reliability sell the turbo and build it,but build it right.

you could probably sell your setup for 2500. that would get you nice and built and pay for most of the Nos setup
although i would personally try nad keep the turbo setup

How much psi do you usually boost?
Im really trying to decide whether to go NA or turbo. I want the power of a turbo, but without worrying about the probs you are having
. Would a standalone help to prevent this kind of thing?
If think NA might be the best route for someone with limited cash like me. I was thinking about cams, im, tb, upped compression, and beefed up bottom end. Lol, NA might be more cash in the long run though.

you'll get tired of squeezing and refilling bottles. That adds up quickly. Go out get a job, either rering the pistons you had and slap it back to gether or get new rods and pistons. Going from turbo to all motor/nos is kind of backwards if you ask me.
I'm an NA guy but I agree with what the other guy said about going backwards turbo to NA. Prolly should find a job and find someone who knows turbo Hondas inside out. A reliable turbo Honda is very possible but you have to do it right and know the limits.
