ok so my friend bought a 1990 JDM honda integra, he used to have a 1989 ZC crx,
on the crx it had 2 water pipes goin to the throttle body/intake manifold, and old trick was to unplug them and reroute them into each other, so the "hot" coolant would flow back into the motor and not into throttle body, its sopsed to drop the temperature of the intake manifold etc etc....anyways, he tried the same trick on his new 1600 vtec, cept this time it had 4 pipes, so he blocked all those, and it worked for about ten minutes, and then his idle kept going up and down from 800-2000rpm, we then put all the pipes back into place, and it solved the problem for about 1 day, and the funny idleing came back.... i dont know if the idleing has anything to do with the coolant pipes, or if he just created sum sort or air leak or sumthing??? anyone know wats goin on???
i told him to disconnect the battery and reset the computer, but his alarm goes off, n its pretty annoying, so we'll try that soon once he finds the key to manualy turn the alarm off....cheers
