Default just picked up my first crx today!

Well im over from the itr forum to test my hands at a crx, i want it as a commute vehicle and something to look nice for the time being. there are a few crucial problems though, the engine has 200,000 miles on it and it is lobing real bad for some reason, i know im prolly not gonna get that much out of it, but i was curious how much a refurbished stock non vtec engine goes for?( sorry not to familiar with the d series motors) also my drivers side door lock doesnt work for some reason, i havent dove into it yet, but how hard is it to install power locks in the crx? price? thanks again all. btw it was a steal at 400 bucks!

What do you mean by the lock not working. It doesn't lock at all or can you only lock it with the key from the outside or inside with the door closed?

If you're gonna get another engine and willing to pay 500 go for a ZC.

you can find stock D16a6's for $150-$250 with low mileage easily!! i have power door locks and power windows in my crx. door locks are from DEI. and the power windows are SPAL. there easy to install. the directions are good! or you could go get the power door locks and power window assembly from a 4 door civic lx. there's sites out there that have write-ups on it and what you need to get off the donor 4 door civic lx!!

on your lock spinning like that. sounds to me you need to replace it.

I would surely go for a ZC if you are needing to swap a new motor in.. around 450-600 depending

for sure! you'll get a little more pep with very little changes to wiring (move 2 wires from the dist to the exhaust cam)

you can pick up a stock crx motor for like 400 bucks. ZC can get you for 500 without trans and ecu., but its easy to use knock off parts for the ZC such as a DX trans or Si trans. and you use a PG7 ECU (88-89 Integra) welcome to the CRX club

right...

Anyways, you can always get a d16y7 which basically bolts up and includes very little modifications and they are easier to find with less mileage.

Is yours an Si?
