Default jdm itr header ?'s

I have a jdm itr 4-1 header on my 95 gsr. I want to keep my header from getting dented up and stuff. My question is that can i make my own skidplate or is it ebtter to buy one ment for the car. thanks

you can probably make a stronger one for your car yourself
if depends how good you are with metal

You can take a piece of stainless steel metal and construct one of your own. I think there's 4-5 bolts in the header that the skidplate can connect to the header.

Ideally if youre constructing your own, you could make it however thick you want, but on average, I'd say about 1/4".

A very good friend of mine had one made for his Comptech header by a local shop for like twenty bucks.
