I'll vote for make one. Get a couple peices of metal (so you can put a little space between them, as an air buffer) and make them however you want them.

 

i would buy one. i considered making one my self but found one on e-bay better then i could ever make plus it was only $20 some after shipping.

how about a custom heart shield..made out of stainless steel or something.....if any of you picked up last months import tuner you would have saw a green eg with a b16 swap with and itr header and a custom heat-shield bolted on...looked really nice imo. This should be in appearance/cosmetic though

i made mines out of ply wood about 1/4 inch thick works good
i painted it with high temp black paint

I've seen those Injen heatshields and such, but they don't really look like they will keep much hot air from the engine reaching the intake. I guess I'm looking to make some sort of barrier between engine and intake.
