I've done alot of searching, and reached the conclusion that most tires will fit no problem on 16x7 wheels, but I didnt see any opinions from people with wheel offsets of 45+(Wheel size I have). Before I drop 400 dollars of my 8 dollar an hour earnings, I just want to get all of your opinions. The 45+ offset wheels put the rim very close to the springs and bar that connects to the upper control arm (not sure of name) My main concern is that the tires I buy will either be too wide or too tall, and rub on the springs and that bar or both. The car is lowered about 1.2-1.4 inches. I'm definately going to buy the Azenis, I just need to decide between 205/55/16's or 215/45/16's. Any help is appreciated

 

you should be fine with the 205/55. you will have more meat on the rims so they will be more protected too and you will have a better ride.

The best way to decide what tire and wheel combo to use is to first determine the over all diameter of the o.e. tire, (ground to top of tire). If you change the overall diameter by more than a 1/2" taller or shorter you are begging for handling, alignment, speedometer, and tire wear issues. If your Honda has a tire with a 24.3" overall diameter just say for example your o.e. tire size is P185/70R14 the overall tire diameter is 24.3". the proper way to "plus size" is to use any other tire with an overall diameter within 1/2 an inch higher or lower of the original tire size. In this case sizes P195/60R15, P205/60R15, P205/55R16, 205/40R17, 215/40R17, 215/45R17, 205/40R18, 215/35R18, and 215/40R18 all fit without changing the o.e.m. geometry. One other often over looked item is the tires load range. when installing different size tires it is important to make sure the tires you are installing are capable of handling the weight of your ride. Also don't forget to maintain the proper speed rating or higher. If there are any questions to my response to this question feel free post a response and i will try to answer any inquiries.

Thanks for the info. what do you think of 15x7 +35 will also fit on a 95 accord 2.5" drop? i'd be running 205 50 15s tires

Unless I'm mistaken, the ideal tire size for a 16" wheels is 205/50/16 for an Accord.
