Expect to pay anywhere from $80-$200 for one or two real Japanese plates. When a car is totalled or junked you are not allowed to keep the plates, they must be given to their equivalent of our DMV. So basically any authentic Japanese plate you see is most likely illegally obtained.
If you want cheap real looking plates, just buy one of the guys who make the fakes. Strip the paint off and paint the letters dark green and remove the outside black bezel. Real Japenese plates have green lettering not black.
