Default swain coatings on piston skurts?

My all motor 2.0liter has scuffed the thrust side ofthe piston bad .

so i am wondering if coating the pistons on the skirt are making them last longer?

Any help would be great.

dan, thats inevitable.. the skirts always come into contact the thrust side of the pistons, especially on forged pistons where piston to wall clearence changes as the motor warms up. they sometimes clank around till it warms up. depending on whos doing your machining and what pistons you run. its normal. coatings however will protect it more. but even the type r pistons are coated as soon as you start it up its already wearing away.. just my 2 cents.. good luck with your car dan!
