Hey my GF drives an SI and wanted to know if the CEL flashes up at 20,000 miles and what for. Thanks.

Thats probably your Maintenance Required light...Look in your owners manual.
It just means youre due for schedule maintenance, you can shut it off easily.

maybe the cel is on for another reason? dont just reset it and think you have no problems. you just might...

Well I just asked her what the light was and she said it was a check engine light until I went over and saw the maintenace required light on . Sorry for wasting your time.

That will do nothing.

Refer to your owners manual on how to reset the light.

reset the ecu for CEL and yes check your owner book for how to shut the maintenace light off.

If the RSX and the S2k are good examples... just insert the key and turn it one click. hold the reset button for your odometer for about 10 secs then turn the key to the ON position and continue holding on to the reset button until the Maint light goes away. I don't know if it is the same for the SI.
