Does smog center mean test only?
What setup do u got? B16 gen1? Swicth over to obd1, and run everything just like a 94 del sol. If smog center is a normal shop, just make it look stock as possible, and find a mom and pop smog place. Ryan

don't mean to be an *** but didn't you think of the smog issue before hand? like when you were thinking of doing a frankenstein motor swap? Common bro this is Cali and smogs are every 2 years
J/W did you get your car smogged at the smog center 2 years ago? If so then they are probably just sending you a notice that you need to smog your car again. I used to live in Cali and as far as i remember you don't need to go to a Smog Center you just need to go to a place get your car smogged so your registration is still good. Somebody correct me if i'm wrong. But having that engine probably won't pass a visual inspection anywhere.
dude u dont talk to ur local dmv reps usually the have a 800 number setup, and unless u decide to call that location versus the state automated number thats up to u. i live in san jose, but south of san jose is hollister and gilroy and they have small quiet dmv's. but i just pulled out my stock motor if u want to borrow it give me a holla.
why dont people just go legit with their swaps? It's not that hard. People say it costs too much money to buy all the USDM ecu and whatnot, but then they end up having to stress out every 2 years trying to find a place that wont care, or they'll have to pay $$$ for someone to "overlook" it.
Plus, its worth the peace of mind imo if/when you get pulled over.
Get it BAR approved, and then do your headswap, or whatever. Then when you go to these 'mom and pop' shops, they wont know that the motor on the sticker isnt supposed to have a vtec head, etc.

)
