Hello guys,

Need some advise. Recently, after I redlined the car, I can smell some burning smell... like it u drive it hard without enough engine oil... I have checked my oil level and it was ok... not sure if you have any similar experience? Or do u know what is the cause?

Smelling oil after beating on your car is somewhat normal, but "drive it hard without enough engine oil" is not normal or too bright.

 

whats your setup.. is your car stock, running boost, n/a, oil cooler or whatever..

 

I get the oil burning smell occasionally when i redline a few gears, almost always when entering the freeway on a clear on-ramp

 

valve cover gasket, cam seals (either end), oil pan gasket, oil separator box.

are you sure its oil? not clutch? sometimes i can smell my clutch..

Hi guys, did not know I am not the only one that has the problem.
So we can consider this normal?

How do u know if it is the clutch not the oil?

I have Mugen intake & exhaust, and am using fully synthetic 5W30 oil.

Also worth checking is the oil filter. If it leaks it drips directly onto the exhaust manifold.
