Default Blue GSR Cluster

I recently purchased a GSR cluster which I am modding to fit into my civic. My question is has any tried to make their cluster light up blue?

I have looked into it a little myself. I bought a few sheets of blue tinted transpent plastic (gels) and tried putting those behind my gauages but it did not seem to work to well. It showed up a very light blue... almost purple, even with some very dark shades behind it.

The next thing I was going to try was getting some blue bulbs. Does anyone else have any tips or tricks? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

the redline area is going to look purple if you do that.

Originally, I was worried about the redline and that is why I tried laying in the plastic only behind the white parts, but as I said, that did not work. I threw in some 194s today and they seemed to work fine just testing them, but they are a little too light blue for what I was going for. I am going to try some LED 194 replacements 2morow and see how that goes.

If anyone else has any tips that would be great.

That is really nice. Where did you get those chrome rings around the gauges?

That amber looks too yellow to me. Doesn't look bad just wouldn't go with my car.

That is why I am trying to get them to light up blue. I want it to go along with the neon I have inside my car. (Yeah... rice, I know! I know!) Anyways, sorry if I wasn't clear the first time. When I threw in the 194 blue bulbs the gauges lit up blue, but i was hoping for a slightly deeper blue to do along with my neon.

I don't have the cluster installed right now, so it is a little hard to see what it is really going to look like. As soon as I find out I will post some pics up. Until then keep the good advice coming!
