Default weird intake humming noise

My intake is making a weird humming noise sometimes at idle. Any idea what that could be? It only happens at idle when the RMP is between 500-700. The humming comes from the filter I'm pretty sure, so I doubt it's anything to worry about.

The filter is aftermarket, and the noise is not hight pitched, it's definately a lower sounding pitch.

Yeah, this is just something that happens naturally with the new intake. Just be glad its not like my friend's integra, friggin thing squeals like crazy once it hits 2500 rpm.

yea, I was pretty sure that it was nothing and just the intake sucking in air. Thanks a lot

Its the stock air box resonator that is inside your bumper. Its got to be taken out to get ride of the humming noise.

An adjustment to the idle screw on the throttle body (if you turn it down) the sound will diminish. Thats questionable depending on where your idle is set, but you can cause your car to burn more gas at idle if you turn up. If worse comes to worse put the factory parts back on.

Good luck.

I dont know why you're getting that hum with the stock air-box and filter, but I guess it has something to do with the RPM because it's pulling in just the right amount of air to make that humming noise. I dont think there's anything we can do really. --Oh well-- It isn't too annoying, but it wasn't there until recently.

Does anyone know why my idle jumps from 700-1500 at times (usually when it's cold and raining)? I think it might have something to do with the resistor I have in there b/c it's messing up the intake temp reading.

yea i have an aftermarket intake but I find that it started humming as the weather here in PA got warmer. The temp isn't effecting it I dont think. I dont care, I was just curious if there was a reason but I guess not. Thanks
