96 LS Vs. 94 RS?
This is not a kill question just a pondering question. My friend has a 94 rs with AEM cai advanced timing thats about it, I myself have a ractive cai, advanced timing (20 deg.) and full 5zigen cat back, what im getting to here what is the huge difference between the 94-95 rs,gs,ls and the 96-up rs,gs,ls his car seems to pull more than mine and mine seems to bog around 4 grand and continue not steady like his. Just wondering what the big dif. ECU?
He's talking about my car. The RS's do have a/c. Iv kinda wondered this myself? Why is my car so much faster than his. When I drive his it seems like it takes forever to get to redlind (feels like a stock honda civic) My car gets right to redline, especially in first and second. Last time we raced I had my friend Brandon in my car (about 180lbs) and id didn't seem to make that big off difference in the amount I beat him by?
the wieght does not seem to make a big difference. hell maybe the rs blessed from the import gods (ya right) but either the engine or the ecu does seem to make the dif.

The OBD/ver2 was implemented on 96+ Integras.
But I don't think that's the reason there's such a difference in performance.
All OBD/ver2 did was add more sensors among other stuff to meet higher emissions standards....etc...

We think that maybe my engine has more done to it than I know of??? We are pretty sure it has an aftermarket clutch, it ingages HARD compaired to his. I guess it is possible that it could have a lightened flywheel as well. That would explain why it got to redline so fast. I guess there could be other stuff too. I no nothing of my cars history, the dealer I bought it from got it at a auction in NJ. I'll probably open the engine up in the next 6 months or so, that would be crazzy if I found high compression pistons and all kinds of stuff!!!!
To my knowledge, I believe they are all the same except for weight difference. The RS has less options, thus weighs less. But in this case, I don't think it is the weight difference. How many miles does both your engines have. The RS was purchased used so we don't know how the car was broken in and taken care of(i.e. regular oil changes, regular maintenance and stuff. I think that is the big advantage.
My car has 84,000 on it. I have chanced the the oil every 2500 miles or so with mobil 1 5w-30 since I bought the car.
Mikes (Redracinghart) car has like 60,000 or so miles on it I think, don't know the maintence records though.
