Default Hello ZC

picked up my car from Je Import Performance in MD today with my "brand new" ZC. They did a great job on the install, at least from what I can tell from driving for a day. This thing makes me feel like I have a new car. Lots more power on the top end which makes highway driving more fun.

It'll get its first test on Sunday at the last auto-x of the season and my first in D-mod. Give those d-mod guys something to think about over that long cold winter!!! Around here it's all crxs in d-mod.

thanks for everyone who offered opinions on the swap.

Evan

congrats, please post again when you get the B16.
All the people I know who have had a ZC in their EF have by now
moved up to the B16.
I personally think that for the cost of putting a ZC in an EF you can
save a bit more money and go for the B series motor.
Enjoy your ZC.

Nononono, you have to turbo the B16a before you realize it's a hack job... I skipped the ZC and went straight B16a... Poor me

I'm racing with Triad.

Good: First off I took the new ZC out for it's first race and I have to say that I'm pretty impressed. More torque and power overall, more than I expected really. I think I placed 3rd in D-Mod out of 5.

Funny: Have any of you seen the Honda vs. VW animation. It's the riced out Civic racing the GTI, but it has that hilarious exhaust sound for the Honda. Well, I was working the course and swore that I heard it, that high pitched Bring-ding-ding is pretty distinctive. Well, some guy in a new WRX had made a CD with that track on it and was blasting it as he went around the course. It was one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time.

Bad: It was a really long day, 180 cars and we only got 3 runs. Each group took their three runs all together instead of broken up like we usually get them. Well, all the mods were in the 4th and final run group so it was gonna be a while until I got to run. About the 15th run of the day, this MR2 came flying out of the final gate and overcorrected and lost it. Well, he really lost it becuase he slid sidways into the timing lights, send the one side about 30 feet in the air. Everyone was freaking out, we'd all payed $20 for 3 measly runs that it looked like we weren't gonna get. To add to the injury this was the last event of the year!!! Well, luckily they had a spare light and the event was able to continue but not before we all got a good scare.

Just thought I'd share some tidbits.

Evan (who needs to find some way to race over the winter!)
