Default B16a2 engine running problem after fitting type R camshafts please help.

today i fitted type r cams to my eg4 civic. i let the ignition timing where it was with the standard cams in. started it up and the tick over was very low and it kept stalling. so i tried a few things like adjusting the timing no the distributor, turned the top towards the back of the car. it started to tick over better but not right at all. also it seems to be very flat at 1000rpm up to 3500 ish. I turned the screw on the throttle body out 2 turms which made it better too. was this wrong to do this? On road test the vtec opens at 5500rpm and stiil seems flat compared to before. its only at 7000rpm plus it goes any good. To me it seems like ignition timing problem but no matter where i set it i dint get the power back i used to have any ideas why? I also have a apexi vafc 2 to fit and i know this needs the rolling road to set this correctly. dont want to fit this until its running ok. I wondered if the fueling was wrong with these cams now? need an expert to sort it please help thankyou

ya, your timing belt is probably off a tooth or if you have cam gears on too, they might have slipped......just a few things to check.
