Water temp sender adapter for autometer gauge???
Ok I'm trying to find out 2 things about installing an autometer water temp gauge in my car (the motor is a ZC if it makes a difference). First off I've got the gauge (electric) and the sender sitting in my garage, I know that the autometer sender is imperial and the honda block is going to be metric. What I'd love to know is if anyone has a part number for the required adapter so I can intstall the sender. I'm really wanting to put it in the same location as the stock one.
If you guys want to do the same thing as in the pics above you can just go to any home and garden or hardware store that carries brass fittings. Buy a T fitting with 2 barbed ends and a threaded end which you gauge sender adapter will thread into.
The barbed ends will have to be the same diameter as the coolant line you are tapping into. And the threaded end will obviously have to be able to screw onto your sender adapter. So find out beforehand which coolant line you plan on tapping into, and what the inner diameter of that coolant line is. You may even want to buy a spare vacuum hose from the parts store that has the same inner diameter and take one with you to the hardware store and use the tubing to find the barbed end with the snuggest fit. Also buy some hose clampst to keep the coolant line from coming off of the barbed end, and buy some liquid teflon sealant for the threaded end and adapter.
This is a pic of the T fitting you'll need, it's the one on the right:

EDIT: oh yah, it's been a long time since I've installed my water temp gauge (Nordskog), plus I tapped my fitting into the thermohousing (and it was a different car too). Take your water temp sender and adapters with you to the hardware store to see if they will hook up ok. IIRC Greddy also makes an adapter that taps into your coolant line, but I dont see it on their site anywheres.
