Default Carbon Fiber question?

I was wondering if there is any way to fix carbon fiber. I got a CF and when I looked at it I saw that the corners at the back of the hood are chipped. I think it happend during shipping. Is there any way to fix this?

I can't return it because I got it off Ebay. The guy won't take it back. Why wouldn't I put it on? I don't like it damaged but there's nothing I can do about it except fix it.

they use to make CF hoods (3-4 years ago) with the back (where the broken edges are)paint with a like 2-3 inch black strip of paint, so u could fix the corners with fiber glass and paint a black edge

You can repair them, you just have to take it to someone who works with that kind of stuff.

Same **** happened to me with BKNW back in 2001, they shipped me another hood free of charge.

The Fed Ex guy who delivered the second one wouldn't leave until I had the hood unpacked and gave it my final A-OK.

I have the same hood on my car till this day.

This is what the shipping courrier said about insurance: GPX offers shippers the ability to purchase additional "declared" value for shipments exceeding the standard $100.00 value declaration. Here is the link if you want to read it: http://www.shipgreyhound.com/terms/

I hope you learned to always pay with a CC / Pay Pal when buying on ebay. That way you can dispute the product should need be.

I would notify ebay about this seller, ebays terms state that product must be in good condition, unless noted by seller.
Unless this is an obvious shipping error, then you should have already filed a complaint with the company.

The guy who sold the hood only accepted Money orders. It was a shipping error. I have not filed a complaint yet. Would that actaully do anything?

Filing a complaint will not do anthing for you. From what i have read I don't think that the seller did anything wrong. I mean the hood could have been damaged before shipment, but honestly you can never prove that. The only thing that I would do personally is contact the shipping company, but again unless you had insurance on it i don't think that they will do anything for you either. In my opinion you should do what you are doing and try and get it repaired, as for that aspect I have no idea how to help you

I think they insure anything up to $100. I bought the hood for $200.
