Tein ss with EDFC
When you are driving and say your first programmed setting is pretty soft, if you were to push another program button for "Race/Hard" set up....How long does the system take to cycle to the hard settings in your memory...And does the EDFC show the rates as they increase or just display what you set them at?
Thanks, Sorry if its confusing.

When you adjust settings with the EDFC, it's pretty much instantanious. however the hell you spell that. if you wait like 3-4 seconds I'm pretty sure the settings have changed already.

As soon as I hit the setting for hard, it takes like 2 seconds to set to hard. It sets very fast. As it is setting to hard the numbers just go down fast until it hits zero.
I hope that answers your question. If not ask another.

This is correct. It feels like I am driving on pillows when I am driving on 16. EDFC kicks ***.

So, If I were looking for a medial between a lowered vehicle and want the change from soft to hard....Like when I take long trips with my G/F then the Tein SS kit with the EDFC would be the ticket....
Also how low is your vehicle "special ed" are you lower than Teins recommended 1.7" or whatever?

well, i have the tein ss for my ep3. and they said that the edfc wasnt compatable. can someone tell me if thats true or not? if it is compatable im going to pick one up!!!
EDFC stands for electronic dampening force controller. it's basically a smaller motor mounted on top of the coils to rotate the adjuster. otherwise you'd have to get out of the car, pop the hood/trunk and do it manually.

Sorry man, Its not compatable with the SS coilovers on the EP3, Just the DC5 chassis. But I don't know why.

I just paid a local shop to do it. They only charged 160 to do it and that included the install of the suspension. I knew how to install the suspension, but not the EDFC so I let em do it.

Click on the link for pics and a full review. The car rides great. I lowered to what they recomend and I have no problem at all. It comes with a camber kit in the front. After my wheel allignment they told me I had no camber at all.
Yes this car is great for long trips with being able to adjust it.

My gf didn't think it was too stiff with the TEIN SS (and I never had it set anything below 8/16). Mine was lowered at different heights up front from -2.25" to -2.0" and -2.0" in the rear. Recommended height was -1.8F and -1.5R. The lower you go, it might make the ride stiffer because you are closing in on the bump stops. If you lower the perches all the way down, I'm sure you'd be pretty much riding on, or close to, the bump stops--thus, ride stiffness would go up--not to mention damaging your struts!
I don't think the EDFC is that necessary if you are trying to save some dough. But they look hardcore mounted somewhere in your cabin, w/ the subtle green display.
But, the TEINs are very easy to adjust compared to other coilovers for the DC5. At least you guys can just pop the hood and the ***** are right there...mine are on the bottom of the strut! Plus, I don't think you should go that low/soft on the dampening settings anyway because it might be underdampened for the springs.

The EDFC is well worth the money for me. Sometimes I do not feel like leavin the car to mess around with the struts. With my RSX I will have to take out the back seat to get to my rear struts so this thing saves me alot of time.
