Default Timing Question

I am going to the track this Sunday and was wondering if advancing my timing would help a little bit. I believe the stock timing for a GSR is 16 degrees and was wondering if it is safe to advance to 18? if not 17? I don't plan on keeping the timing advanced but just wanted to know if it would be safe to do this for a day or so.

Mods are I/H/E &V-AFC.

Thanks in advance.

Advance 2 degrees. Dont run anything less than 93 octane cause pinging will occur, and for the most part its hard to tell if "our" motors ping. BTW I run my car +2 all the time, but never put any less than 93 in it.

Thank you.

I will only have the timing advanced for a couple of days and I never put anything in my car but 93 so I guess I should be safe.

By what I read I believe that the higher octane I run the safer the timing advance is. I should be running a bit over a 100 octane at the track and I never, ever want to hear the sound of detonation.
