Hey, that's the conclusion I've come to since swapping my old battery out and still not being able to play music (I have a sub/amp in back) for more than 5 minutes with the car off.
I am currently using a plastic piece to protect the positive terminal from the intake.

Is this something everyone experience and the only solution is moving the battery to the trunk...

Get some electrical tape and wrap the termanial in it.. then add the plastic cover peice

then i got a new alternator too.. so it dont do it no more, i got a yellow top optima w/ 800w kenwood bridged to a rockford 10in he-2

take an old radiator hose...cut off a 1-2 inch piece cut that in half the long way to make it flat... put it over your positive terminal...cut to fit... zippy tie it up...
or zippy tie it to your intake.
either way it protects your terminal.
