Hey, whats your advice on my prob, have searched all through the forums and drew a couple of conclusiions:
HARDWARE: 90 vic hatch SI with ZC SOHC (fresh install)
SITREP: on startup one morning have strong smell of fuel.starts up so 2 minutes into the drive CEL comes on. I stop turn engine off restart 2 minutes late CEL again. Prior situation with old engine-drove car around with CEL for days until one day it dies on me,seemed like it was flooded (or lack of fuel)minutes later restarted
15 minutes later dies on me,cranks but will not start-had fuel thru filter to injectors (replaced both filter and pump as preventive maint. dizzy also replaced
CONCLUSIONS: drawn from this excellent site:1) ECU could be causing flooding,2)
fuel injector(s) staying open? 3)Fuel Pressure Regualtor is bad
ADVICE NEEDED: 1)On OBD-0 for cel codes is the procedure the same as stated on the "ECU CODES" thread for other OBDs
2). I only have a PR-4 ECU around(my SI still has the PM-6) are they interchangeable plug-wise (I know there is fuel maps diff)and if so would I be causing more problems if I use the PR-4
What would be the culprit or are they all suspect any others?,anyone more than the other. Sorry about the long thread but wanted to minimize the flaming.

Your using a pr4 ecu. Thats from a 91-93 teg correct? If so thats your problem. Your trying to run a 1.6 liter motor with a ecu from a 1.8. The pm6 runs rich to begin with, let alone a pr4. Try to find another pm6, or maybe a pg7. hth.
