smoking at upper revs

i don't know if this is common or not, but my car smokes pretty bad at upper revs (6500 and up) during the first time i go into vtec after cruising for a day or two. any help would be appreciated. thanx

my hatch with a itr does it. its very common mine does only in 4th gear about 7krpm but it still put down 186 with i/h/e so let it smoke as long as it runs good check your oil periodically
Check you manifold, if there any oil deposit then you might want to try replacing your PCV valve. I had the a similiar problem and after I replace me PCV valve it stopped smoking at VTEC.
If it is not that I would do a leak down test to make sure that your rings are ok.

same thing happened to me when i noticed i was 1 quart off every month. It would not smoke if i would drive normal,but when i got on it past vtec bluish white smoke would come out,and my bumper would be black as ****,ended up being my pistons rings. hope that helps.
