Default Accord Failure rate?

Wondering if anyone knows of a Honda site that is available to report unusual issues regarding failure rate or the lack thereof. I have an 82 accord, 5 speed that I've had since 1983 and/or 15,000 mi. It now has 248K on it, and I'm still using the original clutch. Not complaining, in fact I'm wondering if this is normal. Would the Honda folks be interested in finding out how it has lasted so long?

hondas are incredibly reliable, if well maintained...

but to answer your question TheBenders, there is a site that reports recalls for the vehicles by typing in your VIN, but i dont remember the site name right now. and it does have slight info on what the car's normal problems are. ill edit my post with the link when i find out the site.

I had 135,000 miles on my Civic and the clutch was not giving me any signs of failing.

Take it as a complement, you know how to properly drive a MT Transmission.

But Mike813 is right, they are incredibly reliable, I would take a MT Honda over an AT Honda any day when possible. Keep it simple and drive it properly and it will last...

My original clutch lasted 321,000 miles, and it never once slipped (I measured the disc when I changed it and it was still within the service limit.... barely, but still in). One of the little damper springs broke and jammed the clutch. I'm at 341k now and still going strong as ever, having never once broken down or left me stranded! Hondas are hella reliable!! Wouldn't catch me driving anything else....

Honda like a well maintained machine lasts and lasts.....if you go to http://www.honda.com you can type in your VIN and it will register you for services etc etc. If you go to http://www.edmunds.com and type in vehicle information they will show you not only services but recalls etc.

This is one of the biggest reasons I love my honda
