HF best for swap
You could say an HF is the best CRX for swap because unlike the DX you wont have to worry about converting to MPFI, and over the Si its significantly lighter. Gotta love the 88s

Everybody uses this as THE reason why you MUST get the SI. But you really have to ask yourself how much you really want it. I, for instance, find no pleasure in letting the sun beat on myself on a hot summer day. I prefer A/C. In fact, I only opened the sunroof on my SI about two times during the entire time I had it. So if you think like me, you are better off with a low-trim CRX like the HF or DX. I would only get an SI if you consider the sunroof to be a 'must-have'.

my reason for getting the si was for the gauge cluster, seats, steering wheel, the engine, the front and rear sway bars, etc. and if you get a rex, it's got disc brakes all around. there are many advantages to the Si.

I agree...I love my si. The d16a6 is a sweet engine for turbo. I wouldn't ever want to spend a lot of money on a b-series then be slower than a turbo d-series.
But then again you can find the a6's for cheap as hell and swap on in a hf for minimal cost.

I looked around for a si for at least 2 years then I found one did all the swap stuff ect....... and I totalled it 2 months ago now I have a 88std model
and I'm fu**ing loving it. I don't know what I was thinking getting that heavy *** pig to begin with. Oh yeah it has a sunroof who cares thats just more weight, blahh

i started with an 88 hf...and now after buying\selling a couple ED's...i'm back to an 89 hf. for a swap...YES the HF is the way to go.
keep in mind the 88-89 hf's weigh in at under 1900lbs. i think the 88 is 1819lbs and the 89 is 15 lbs heavier, weighing in at 1834lbs. now the 90-91's are in the 1900's.

I'm sure most of the weight savings in the HF comes from the lightweight motor. Once you drop a b series into it, put rear disks on, install some sway bars, and put decent seats/center console in it, the only weight difference between it and a swapped Si is gonna be like 20 pounds from the passenger side mirror and sunroof motor. Stock curb weights don't mean much once you start swapping.
Yeah pretty much all youre going t have to worry about is the spindles. Either use 90-93 Integra spindles, or 88-91 CRX Si or crx DX spindles. other than that, its just like a normal swap, its better than DX because you dont have to rewire for injectors
