idle RPM changed!
so i took my car into the shop on monday to get my rear quarter panal fixed since someone hit me awhile ago. and when i took my car in my idle was around 1000.
now a week later when i got my car back, my idle is as low as 500!
is that an indication that someone went ****-wild on my car while it was gettin fixed?
or it 500 where my idle should be at?
also my maintainence light flashes like seven times when i start up now. whats that mean? ive done most of the regular maintainence myself so i realli dont know whats goin on.
thanx all.

what is the mileage on your car right now? the blinking maintenance light could possibly mean that you are due for some maintenance. if, after a while, it just starts to stay on all the time, that is what it means. you can reset it yourself (since you said that you have done all of the proper maintenance) by pushing a little button (it will be either blue or green, don't remember what color). it is on a little black box right around where your right knee would be (underneath the steering wheel).
as for the idle, someone correct me if i am wrong, but shouldn't the idle be somewhere around 750, + or - about 50? either way, it sounds like your idle is a bit low. again, someone correct me if i am wrong, but you can adjust your idle by adjusting the throttle body. there was a thread on this not too long ago. if i can find it, i will post it.
hope that helped

I'm pretty sure that if someone did mess with your car at the shop then they would have fixed everything even the problem before giving it back to you. What maintenace have you done on the? Did you do the timing belt and valve adjustments too? Was it done at the shop or did you do it yourself?
