My rims just got delivered (16x7 w/ 45mm offset) and I went to put them on my 96 Accord and I thought they fit fine. My neighbor comes over and starts telling me that I will probably have clearance problems with parts of my suspension and the fender well. I took a second look and I could see what he was saying. Since the offset is pretty large, will I have to buy a certain size tire. I was most likely going to buy 215/45/16 Azenis, but now I'm not sure if they will fit because they're really wide. Any suggestions? Would 205/55/16 Azenis fit better? Thanks

i dont know exactly what youve managed to do, but i personally on both of my accords have 18 inch wheels, and both are 18x8 in the front and 18x9 in the back, the tires are wide, i dont know the details off hand but why are you having clearance problems?

Thanks. Maybe it only had that little clearance because the car was up off the ground. I guess when the suspension is hanging there is less room.

 

What my neighbor thought was a problem was that the rim of the rim(yeah lol) was only about a fingers width away from the springs so he thought that once tires were on, it would scrape.
