in stead of ur muffler, just run an open header.
launch at diff RPM's to see what ur sweet spot for ur best time
and have fun.
u running drag, slicks, or street tires??

Put 20 psi of air in the front tires, 45 in the back. Bump ignition up 2 more degrees. Run gas tank till your needle sits on E. Take off your power steering and a/c belts if you choose to. Drop exhaust at the cat. Try to keep motor as cool as possible between runs by leaving your hood open. Practice launching at different RPMs, I would say sart at 2500 and work your way up. Speed or power shift, which ever you feel most confortable with. If your going to just run and see how fast you go, then dont worry about Reaction Time--take all the time you need on the line til you trip the lights. Talk to the other guys at the track, you can learn some valuable information from other racers--IMO dont listen to what ricers say, I actually had one guy tell me that he runs faster with his ghettofabulous 18" wheels and his body kit reduced weight so much.....yadda yadda yadda.
Cant think of anything else right now. Good luck and have fun!! Oh yeah, dont forget to wear pants and bring a helmet!

pulling off the a/c belt is not worth it, the p/s IS worth it
you probably dont need a helmet unless you run 13's or faster
reducing your tire pressure is not always good
when i ran stock tires i always left them at normal pressure because when I slipped the clutch when i launched and the higher pressure helped me on the top end

I would say 2.2 to 2.4 on the stock tires.--60 ft. definetly comes down to driver skill. You want a little tire spin, try to feather the clutch if you feel like your getting to much though.
Dont listen to the above post.
Definetly lower your tire pressure down to 20. It wont really have any effect on your speed later down the track. When the wheels are turning so fast, the rotational force will cause the tires to grab. Plus its not like you have 300+ horsepower and you'll be spinning the tires all the way down the track.

I don't get it sometimes.
People do all this prep work, so they can say,
"Yeah, my GS-R runs xx.xx, when I remove my spare, rear seats, advance timing...etc etc etc etc."
If I ever go, I'd like to do it in street trim to get more realistic numbers. That way, if I do bad, I can say,
"yeah, I didn't remove my spare, etc etc etc"
