hit a curb!!!! alignment messed up, help!!!
i ran up a curb because i lost control of my car a few days ago and i went to go get a alignment and they said my caster is knocked back a lil... close to 1 degree i think and they said its gonna pull to the right even though they do the alignment.... it still pulls a little to the left now and i wanted to fix it and was wondering what could be messed up if i ran up a curb?? replace lower control arm? upper control arm? or the whole control arm??? any suggestion? i dont think i hit the curb bad enough that i damaged anything really serious
Hmm, I did the same exact thing in my Accord a few years back. We had a freak snowstorm and I had some toyos that were looking like slicks (they were that bald).
Anyways, slid into a curb on drivers side, caster pushed back a little over a degree. The good news is that it won't wear tires, the bad news is that it will definately pull.
In my situation I ended up replacing every thing on that side of the suspension that could possibly be unbolted....but nothing helped. The conclusion made by everyone who looked at it was the 'cradle' that the LCA bolts to was messed up.
Caster isn't adjustable on Honda's but it can be shimmed out somewhat. They can bring one side back and the other side forward to split the difference as much as possible.
In my case I just lived with it because it wasn't that big of a deal really.
Another thought...traction bars. You could then adjust the caster.
Good luck.

well this happen when i was drag racing because i couldnt stop in time and there was a sharp turn with a hump and the hump made my tires lose traction
you need to get under your car and do some very accurate measuring with a tape measure to determine what is bent. your alignment shop should be able to tell what is wrong.

That's a GREAT idea to be racing on a street that you haven't checked out from start to finish?!

bringing the thread back up. I'm now pushing out a lot of power and when i get on the throttle it swerves all over the place (its not torque steer because i know how it feels). I'm in the process of replacing my front subframe and tie rods and i replaced the knuckle, UCA, LCA already. Anything else might be bent? I do have a traction bar but how does that adjust caster?
