Car pops out of gear when I launch.
Last time I went to the track for honda day I would launch my car at 3000 rpm's and it would take off then pop out of first gear. I even tried holding the shifter in and it still poped out once more.
I am running falkens on the front with gsr tranny with type r lsd installed. I tried launching last night a few times on a closed road and it took off with no probem did not come out of gear.
Any suggestions on what could be causing this?
Also the car has always had problems going into second gear if I am slowing down like coming to a light. I am assuming this is my syncros. Last night when I went to shift from 1st to 2nd at around 7800 rpms the tranny grinded like crazy but my clutch was all the way in.
I had just changed the tranny fluid about 200 miles ago and checked to make sure it was at the proper level and it was. Is my tranny just going south?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Not positive but part of your problem sounds like syncros.
As far as it popping out of gear at the track, what RPM are you at when it pops. I've had mine pop out of first before I got into 2nd because I revved to high and bounced off my limiter.
You can also try some of the GM syncro lube if you think you're having syncro problems. I don't have any first hand experience with it but I have heard from others that it's good for you syncros... I would research that a bit more though before you take any action on it.

It is a hydro tranny.
It pops out before I hit the revlimiter. The first time I lunched it i moved a few feet then it poped out and I was like wtf just happened. I finally relized it and had to put it in 2nd b/c it would not go into first. I launched at 3000 at the track and that is when it poped out. Last night I lunched at 4000 and did not have a problem. Could it be getting more traction on the track and that causing it to pop out. I think the grinding is deff syncos.
Where can I get the gm syncro lube? And is that an additive or do I drain my oil and replace it with that stuff?

how many motor mounts and the motor can me moving to much under launch pulling the car out of gear . what car is this in
Yes, first has a synchro. If not then you would have to turn the car off and shift into 1st then restart just to get it there.....or revmatch and jam it in but thats not too smart.
Popping out of first gear could be a couple things. Brass rings worn. Synchro teeth worn on the gear and/or slider. Bent or worn shift fork/rod. Shouldnt have anything to do with the clutch.
GM syncro mesh is fuild not an addative. Most GM parts counters should carry it.

Well guys today it did not pop out at all. Who knows what is going on. It is still hard to get into second gear.
I did pretty good today. MY frist run being a 15.3 at 103 mph b/c my two step did not disengage.
With my best run being my last in bracket racing at 13.1 at 110 mph. I hit the brakes twice trying not to break out but I still did.

If I knew I was going to break out. I would have went all out and seen if I could have broke into the 12's son.

Reverse has no Synchro... which is why you have to wait for the transmission to stop spinning before putting it into reverse - otherwise theres a crunch.
But yes, 1st has a Synchro
But yes, 1st has a Synchro
Reverse still has a synchro... as said before, if it didn't then your car would have to be turned off to get it in gear.
The reason reverse will make that grinding sound is because it is a straight gear meaning each tooth on the gear runs laterally accross the gear whereas the other gears 1-5 do not. The teeth on the regular gears run at an angle as opposed to latterly like reverse. They are angled so that the gears can engage easily when in motion. If they were not this way and were lateral teeth like on reverse then you would get the same grinding that you get in reverse when in motion.
