Default My JDM ITR 4-1 hits my LS oilpan

Did a test fit last night while assembling my motor for claying, and sure enough the header hits on my LS oil pan.

Block is a '92 B18A w/ same year oilpan. It's damn close, any problems with denting the pan slightly to allow for the header clearance?

I've never heard of people have problems with this. Am I the only one?

Thanks,
Adam

I wouldnt dent the pan, my friend took his dc header and bent it a little near where it hit and it was fine, and there was no hp lose because he dynoed it after.

I can't bring myself to "modify" the header. The pan wouldn't have to be dented much, and I can't imagine that it would affect oil pick up at all.

I still can't get over the fact that it actually hits the pan.

Anyone else?

Thanks,
Adam

I can see why you wouldnt want to modify your header. You could look into a different oil pan, one that has a different shape to it. My friend that bent the header couldve bought an oil pan that doesnt take the same shape, and would allow for the extra room, but he didnt want to spend the money.

Well after allowing my header to wear though my oil pan i just took a hammer to the new oil pan. Doesn't take much. You oil pan probly see's more abuse then that from road rash.

I didnt say dent the header. You can bend it. It doesnt take performance away. Just dent the pan.

Don't know how the oil pickup sit in it, but the GSR oil pan will clear the header just fine. It's not "kicked" out towards the header as much as the LS pan is. If you need one I have a nice baffled one fs. See sig.
