So my mechanic says that I need this thing from a 91 Integra to stop the stupid idle problem.
I know it looks like one of those other solenoids... kinda like the purge solenoid... but I need to know what it exactly looks like since I'll be heading to the junk yard tomorrow to yank this sucker out.
Which tools should I bring with me? I should stack up on some other **** too.

I went to the junk yard... I was amazed how they had so many 4th gen civics but no DA tegs
i checked every single car too.
So, now my question is... can I get these "pressure regulator cut off solenoid valves" from aftermarket stores? dealership prices OWNED me... $158 for a ****** solenoid.
I need this to fix the idle problem... it connects a vacuum line and a couple of wires goto the ecu harness.

i have no pics of it.. since i dont have it.
but it looks like the purge solenoid (little black cylinder with vacuum line on the firewall)

I know what you are talking about. A friend of mine has a 93 LS teggy with it. I dont know what it does when its not used/bypassed. My 93 GSR swap doesnt have one....the fpr vac line just goes directly to the IM. Another friend of mine has the MAP/Purge Solenoids assembly off an Integra in his CRX with B16 swap, and he isnt even using the one for the FPR. It just sits there. But he is using the one for the charcoal canister. What is your idle doing exactly? Maybe soemthing else is causing it? A tryed and true method of putting a "band-aid" over a wide variety of idle problems would be to plug the lower hole on the left side of the TB when looking into it. I believe that hole is for the FITV...

I'll come back with pics of my vacuum lines... but to answer your question "What is your idle doing exactly?", my idle starts rising up to 1500 (im guessing because i dont have a tach) for about 2 seconds, then down to 500 or so for like 1 sec... then it just repeats this over and over again... when im driving it runs fine.. this only happens at idle and when i depress the clutch (or when im in neutral coming to a stop at a red light).
I'll explain more with pics that i'll take today.
This idle problem seems to waste more gas... hopefully it has nothing to do with the "mugen chipped" pr3 ecu that i have.

Ok here are the pics:

What a mess.
A couple of other people told me that it could be the IACV. This one guy said he had a B16 crx with the same problem, and when he changed the IACV, it worked perfectly.
Well, I went to a used parts place and picked one up for my B16. $50. I went ahead and changed it today. Then I ran the motor with the rad cap off letting the air bubbles to come out. After running it for 10 mins, there was no change. WTF.
PLEASE HELP ME!

Damn, those lines are all FUCKED!
I mean, they might still work like that, but they are not where they are supposed to go at all.
I only had that problem when my PCV was cracked.
Other then that, it would be weird that you need this but others, like me, didn't need it.

Hey wassup man, do you think you can meet up with me sometime (when you're in Toronto) to fix up my lines? BTW, where is the pcv? I'd like to replace anything that might have to do with this problem.

Right now I just adjusted the FITV thing just like how the "FITV 123" thread said to do.
It didnt do ****.
I'm going to return that IACV for my $50 back, since that didn't do anything either.
I have no clue how to fix this fluctuating idle.

Scroll down near the end of the page for a vac diagram: http://texas.clubsi.com/brandon/crx/swap.htm
You paid $50 bucks for the purge! Heres some toilet paper for your bleeding ***. Next time you need something like that just contact this guy http://www.bulldog.hr/gs/gotstyle.html
Sometimes you have to go thru a few iac's before you get a good one. I would try and borrow one from a buddy to try it out and see what happens.

Thanks guys.
I dont have the "Pressure Regulator Cut-off Solenoid Valve", many people said that i dont need it and it is not the problem of the idle.
Anyways, i went with the other vac diagram and stumbled upon one thing... this thing in the middle of the IM.
I dont know where to hook up that vac line to.
also, that other one i put a question mark to... can u be a little more specific about "cold air intake pipe"?
I've tried connecting the two question marks together... my idle is reallllllly high... like over 3000. but it is constant... it sounded like the rpms were getting higher, so i shut her off. the motor was cool mind you.

looks to me you should ripp all your vacuum lines off and start from scratch...go with that diagram i posted above. that shows your "cold air intake pipe" connection.
ill look tomarrow, but i think i have that part mounted to the firewall, with the MAP and 2 solenoids...from a 90 integra. it might be what your looking for!

i have the same problem as you man, it goes up and down when idleing from 500 - 1500. vrrooooo *high*ooooommmm *low.. agian and again. i dont have a vtec pressure switch hooked up and my knock sensor isnt connected, that may be a problem. i dont have time to fix it for another few weeks but i think thats the problem with mine.
The think the thing in the center is only on the 90-91 jdm tegs (I think). I heard that it eases down the revs if you all the sudden throw it into neutral or something.
A long time ago I had a little surging. I just reved the engine from the throttle body bell crank, and it went away forever, lol. Ryan
