as long as he gets upgraded valvesprings and retainers he will be fine. They are awesome cams. Here is my jdm gsr motor, which was quite close to a usdm itr motor when this dyno was done, heres the mods:

jdm gsr 10.6:1
skunk2 mani
itr tb
jdm type r header
toda b's
portflow inner, itr outter, ti retainers
hondata

done open header. check out the tq, and the power came in really quick as well
btw check out my tq curve...127 at 2500 rpm, never drops below 125 and is nice and flat

nice dyno, but the toda b's top out at 8300.

i dont see why i would need to replace the stock itr valvesprings with some beffy ones if the cams don't produce power beyong 8400.

Because Toda recommends bigger valve springs with 'B's and 'C's. But it's your funeral.

I hope so-I am going to try out some Toda 'C's with ITR outers and Portflow inners. Tom (Portflow) said that the ITR inners bind at about 12mm of lift.

That is not true about topping out at 8300.
I had a stock B16 that made power over 8500 with toda B.

Also I noticed that there is a double "B" stamped on the cam.... Mine is clean and only stamped once. There are some copies out on the market that look pretty close to the same.

i would definitly get upgraded springs and retainers, not positive that theyll bind on stock, but its not worth taking that chance

Well i think it also depends on how high you plan on reving. Wont that determine weather a whole new valvetrain is necessary?

No, j00 need toda valve springs because of the spec B's high lift.

A while back there was an article that was released by toda discussing that there are copy-cat cams out there.

I would recommend upgrading the valve springs and retainers.
