main bearing codes.......NEED HELP!!!
hi everyone, im in the process of replacing my main bearings but im having a hard time figuring out the codes on the bottom of the block. If you view the picture, i know its hard to see, but it reads DBCCC on it. On the helms manual, it says that journal #1 is toward the pulley side and journal #5 is on the flywheel side. But if you view the code of the block, the letter D is on the flywheel side and letter C is on the pulley side. So do i read the codes backwards? for instance, #5 is D, #4 is B, #3 is C, #2 is C and #1 is C. I always thought you would read the numbers from 1-5 instead of 5-1. Please anyone help. this is the last thing i need to finish up my block. thanks everyone for your help....
The letters are oriented with the letter closest to the rear of the motor being for the #5 main.
1 - C
2 - C
3 - C
4 - B
5 - D
1 - C
2 - C
3 - C
4 - B
5 - D
