Default ITR LOWER TIE BAR

the oem itr ones mounts on the bottom of the lower control arms instead of the usually side like all the other cars. i have a 94 integra rs, cant i mount the itr on it? or can i only put on regular lower tie bars?

the ITR does come with a lower tie bar and a trunk bar, the lower tie bar mounts on the bottom of the lower control arm, not the side of the lower control arm like other. its not polished metal though, so ppl dont usually notice it. passwordjdm confrimed with me, and i checked one out in my neighborhood, its just not bling bling thats all, no1 noticeses it

Comptech made a lower tie bar years ago that mounts in the same place as an itr. Drilling is required. This was before they had the tie bar & sway bar kit.

If you want it so bad, why not replace your rear subframe with the R subframe and then you can also go with a BIG rear swaybar.

you'll need the itr subframe to use the lower tie bar. It better just to get some aftermarket piece then welding a new subframe.

you wont really see a noticible difference with the bar if you already have the ITR Rear sway.

there's a lot of labor involved. its a toss up between striping and modifying your current subframe or removing it and replacing it with an itr one...

IMHO, not worth the $

You can do it if you want to. I've seen a DA with an ITR lower tie bar. Just weld the tabs on the subframe and bolt the bar on to it.

I have a DC sports Tie Bar and i installed it with a friend. It took us 2 hours b/c we didn't know what to do and it was hard to get the arms back in the same spots. What is easy to forget about the ITR's is that they are 5 lug and that and different suspention parts, not all ITR parts can work with all other integra's. I would say just get none Type R stuff. There is a point when your buying things on line and they ask if its a type R or Vtec or non-Vtec. Because the parts are different. The bar might work but i would believe there would be some customizeing invovled to make it work. But i just drive a 2000 GS i might be wrong, and the GSR's and the same as the R's.

There was a thread on here with someone who actually bought the rear subframe piece from Acura and welded it to his non R. He then bolted on the rear tie bar that comes stock. It's alot of work and you have to like drop your gas tank and stuff to do it from what I remember.

why go thru all that trouble trying to install the stock itr tie bar when you can simply make a purchase on an aftermarket bar that would yield similar if not better stiffness
