2002 accord sedan seatbelts
Hi. I got in a big car accident about 2 weeks ago. I got everything fixed except for the seatbelts (btw i only have liabitliy insurance so everything on my car hsa to come out of my pocket). I called the dealer how much it would cost to fix the seat belts since my mechanic didnt know how to fix them, and the guy at the dealer said a couple thousand?? He says they are electronic and only have one use- so when u get in a accident they need to be replaced. Anyone else been in a similar situation and get it cheaper or have something done to fix it? Thanks
Honda seatbelts (along with most if not all car companies) have a lifetime warranty which should mean that if they ever do not work then they will be replaced free of charge, on my dads camry one of the seatbelts stopped working and it was taken care of free of charge and i would assume the same would be for honda
The lifetime warranty is there, but I'm not sure if it would cover seatbelts that had been in a wreck.
Are the seatbelts still working?

The seatbelts were described as "locked" they dont move at all.. i cant pull them. The dealer said that this was what was suppose to happen since the seat belts essentially destroy themselves upon acitivation of the air bag.. the seat belts dont work and hes asking me to pay an outrageous amount to fix it.. ive tried alot of mechanics but there seems to be no alternative.

The lifetime warranty on seatbelts does not cover belts damaged through misuse and abuse or accident related issues.

You could try putting in seatbelts from a junkyard from even an older Honda, should just be a few bolts? I think it would fit easily, but I'm not sure.
But yes, a couple thousand for seatbelts is outrageous.
