89 Teg Motor into 91 CRX SI???
My buddy has a 89 tegra that was wrecked. Engine still good though. Will his engine bolt up to my car like a real zc would. I believe his engine is a d16a1. I could probably get both the engine and ecu for like 200 which is like 400 less than a zc and almost the same damn thing. Oh and i know its in good running condition cuz I helped him change the spark plugs/wires and go through the engine. Any one who can help me please do so I want....no...NEED MORE POWER! And this just seems like a low-cost way to go.
I dont think the d16a1 is a bolt in affair unless you have a 1G CRX/3G Civic. Search the archives, there should be tons of info. on this

What about if I swapped the ecu from his 89 teg to my rex. Will it work? and will it make a diff. I heard somewhere that it gives a lil bit more getup

What i need to know is if his ECU will boost the performance of my car with my stock motor. Later Ill probaly do a b16 for 3200 out the door later on. Is 3200 too much? and the ecu thing is for now so NO ZC swaps at the moment

That 89 teg came rated at 118 crank hp for an LS or RS model, 125 if it was the SE model.... Only a ten hp gain. Ain't worth it.
