Default How heavy is a d16 block with pistons but no head or tranny attached?

like 250 pounds? or more?

just the block, with crank, and the whole piston assembly, but tranny's off and maybe even the oildpan...

I don't know whether this helps, but I just moved my B18 block (incl. crank, rods, pistons, pumps, oil pan, etc.) and it was easy for 2 people. Probably around 100-120 lbs (rough guess). I don't know how the D compares, but my guess is that it's slightly smaller.

sohc shortblock is about 80-100 lbs...

ok this is getting even better


reason i'm asking is if i disassemble the block while in the car, and have the various pieces supported on jackstands, could i take it out piece by piece with a friend?

i just went to the store today and one of those crane thingies is like 400 dollars , it told them to shove it and went on to think up other plans.

if its only 100-150 pounds that should be no problem lifting it out...
