Default Horsepower Question

Hi, I am pretty new to the board. Hopefully you guys can help me out. I bought an Apex-I Rev/Speed meter and it reads my power in PS. What is the difference between PS and HP ?????????????? Someone help me please. Greatly appreciate it and thanx for your time.

I think its like .9 to 1 so its just about the same.

PS is how ppl in japan measure horsepower.

Hmmm.. germany uses PS as horsepower as well.

PS in German is Pferde Sterke.

haha ok.......so its the same thing as horsepower....juss another word right???????

couldnt be cuz my Apex RSM measured my peak at 192 PS and i only got bolt ons.

Well, if it measured horsepower to your flywheel, it could very well be close to 192. I believe that a stock GSR at high rpm's is rated at 170 horsepower give or take 1hp. Add several worthy bolt ons like a CAI and decent headers, and you may well be near the 190 hp range (at flywheel).

Does it calculate HP like the Gtech?

im not sure how the gtech works. My RSM came with a gforce sensor. When measuring power u need to input things like weight, tire diameter, ect.. Over all it is a very nice product. Too bad it reads my speed in kilometers per hour.

im pretty sure they make a US version of that with HP and miles, and all that other goofy SAE stuff
