huh? header wrap makes it cooler.....? if anything, it'll keep it hotter by prevent heat from the exhaust gases to escape

Header wrap keeps the header itself hotter and the engine bay cooler. Keeping the header hotter speeds the flow of exhaust out.

It can crack the header because moisture can get locked in around it, and can start rusting any scratches etc on the header. you will be better off to send the header off to get a good ceramic coating on it.

Listen to the man. I wrapped a header in the past, and it was destroyed in a year and a half ... mostly due to the wrap keeping moisture against the metal.

wrapping ceramic headers is bad since it does rust and crack easily. I've never heard any bad stories about wrapping a stainless header.
