short?
my friend has a katana 600 and if he does not ride the bike for about a day, then he would not be able to start it because of a weak battery. If he rides the bike daily than it is ok because I guess the alternator recharges and replaces the lost amps. i'm pretty sure that there is a short in the electrical system but what component causes it? The service manual says that amp leakage should be 1 mA max.
Since the bike is caburated, I don't think it has a computer so no amp draw when the bike is off.
If there is a short in the system, wouldn't that shorted wire burned by now? Is it possible that a component itself malfunction and causes the shortage and not because of a broken wire? cuz if it is a wire, wouldn't that wire burned thru by now?
Is it possible for a shorted component to work normal? His bike doesn't seem have any malfunctioning components.
