Default GSR coupe track time

I'm going to the track for the first time on Friday and wanted some info. I have a 93 civic coupe with a USDM 95 gsr swap with cold air intake and catback exhaust. I am also putting my stock dx wheels on instead of my heavy 17" rims. What should I run? Should I shift at 7600 or 8000? At what rpm should I launch at? And does anyone have any other advice for a first timer?

i would guess mid-high 14s if you can get some decent 60fts, you should be able to launch between 2500-3500...start low and work your way up, you are gonna want some spin off the line and enough that it doesnt bog after you hook, shift at 8k

Here are my results from last night:
R/T=.737
60'=2.417
330=6.589
1/8=10.001
MPH=72.06
1000=12.921
1/4=15.394
MPH=89.89

That was my second run, on my first I ran a 15.5 because of a bad start. I've gotta practice starting before I go back.

work on your launches. your 60ft is too high. drop that biatch to 2.2's at least and you will see your 1/4 times drop

I am going to say that someone messed up something with your swap. Dunno what as I can't see it, but you should be trapping a HELL of a lot quicker then 89mph.

i have a 96 hatch with gsr swap and with just a 2.3 60ft i was pulling consistent 14.8's and occasional 14.7's. i know if i get a better launch my times will be higher. i was trapping at 93. hope this helps you

He had a 2.4 60ft. I would be in high 14s if he dropped that a bit. Also, he's in a coupe not a hatch = Heavier.

Did you get a chance to weight the car?? I understand that it is a coupe but that trap is still considerably low for what he has.

The 60 should have nothing to do with his traps being THAT much lower then they should. That should trap around 93-94 even in a coupe... which by the way isn't but maybe 200lbs heavier the the almighty hatch.

And just to help you out some. Even if he DID cut a 2.3 60, then he would run 15.1... Still slow for what it should do if you ask me.

well i can see why you did those times though. You were on the stock wheels. They are so skinny he probably could get ANY traction. i think with some drag radials you'll be in the low 14's with a semi-stripped car

try lowering your 60ft. When i first got my swap i hit 14.87 w/ 2.360ft with i/h/ex clutch and flywheel in a 99 coupe with full interior

yeah i dont know if open header does too much i ran like that for a while and still had the same times... because you lose a little mid range, but if you can manage to stay above likr 4800 then it is better with the open header..
