Are these parts synonymous ...
balance shaft is on your motor and is the other belt that goes with the timing belt, it helps reduce vibrations.
intermediate shaft or half shaft is where the drivers side axle connects to inorder to have equal lenght axles.
i have never heard of auxillary shaft.

To Whom it May Concern:
No flaming intended, but, don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player - er, I mean the messenger.
I got these terms from the Good'ol faithful Haynes Manual once again, all under the balance shaft and TB sections, not the drivetrain - get it!? - hint! hint! Some people here seem to get quick attitudes with other people, as if this was all of my own doing. Yeah, right! I'm referring to a certain reply. Thanks to all the other courteous replies.
Btw, I am certified for R12/R134 AC work. I am slowly getting my automotive degrees. I wonder what some respondents have to show for their inflated thoughts of their own knowledge.

no offense, but i think you're overreacting a little... (not to mention that your response seemed to have more attitude then anyone elses in this thead.) if you don't like somone's reply, just ignore it.
but back to the topic...
i've never heard of an intermediate shaft anywhere but the driveaxles, so i couldn't help you there. just keep in mind that haynes isn't all that great of a manual. chilton's or helms is the way to go...

I got an attitude. Boy, talk about throwing stones! Did you even try looking into this before you posted to see what the below person said to: ACCORDianate, Honda-Tech Member, who asked the original legitimate question on this topic. That is partly what I was talking about. Here is what Diamante originnally said about being helped:
QUOTE: "Smartass comments and BS answers (such as 'have you tried a bigass hammer?', 'sell it and buy an Integra.' or 'why dont you pull the engine and put in a H22?') may as well be kept to yourself: I'm not about to beat the F outta the car, we don't have the money to plop in a different engine, and we like the car. We have no intentions of selling it. With that being said: Help!!!" END QUOTE:

To get your camshaft out, put a turbo on your car, don't intercool it, and run about 60 psi. That should get any internals you'd ever need out of the block. If you don't like any of the stuff left over, run a 500hp shot of nitrous into it. That cleans up any unnecessary parts, such as cylinders, rods, and if youre lucky, a free port and polish because it melt your manifold and reshape it for PERFECT AERODYNAMIC FLOW!

ok... well, now i see what you're talking about. but at the same time, shouldn't you have posted the attitude comment in that thread instead of this one? the way you presented it makes it seem like you were referring to someone in this thread. anyway, i won't beat it to death. my apologies...
